Be glad of life because it gives you the chance to love and to work and to play and to look up at the stars.

-Henry Van Dyke

Growing up I was always a crafty girl.  I remember my mother sending me to a neighbor's house for art projects.  The cost was a whopping 75 cents for the day!!  (Yeah, she sent me A LOT!) I graduated onward and upward and remember my first challenging project to be a belt made for my mom out of cardboard discs covered with foil and linked with string.  (Lots of Elmer's glue involved!) Imagine my dismay when she left for the store that day and forgot to wear my beautiful creation!

I was always enthralled by my grandfather who did lapidary work and made me treasured trinkets that I still have today.  Now when I  hold them I amazed that he took the time to make them for me and at his craftmanship.  It is true that a well made piece of jewelry is timeless and will last for generations!

I have been making jewelry for many years, but now that my children are a little older, I have more time to spend creating pieces between my taxi driving duties.  Metalsmithing is my new obsession.  After taking classes more than 10 years ago, I have the time to experiment more without worrying that the kids will need something as soon as I light the torch.   I also enjoy working with PMC, although this is fairly new to me.

My favorite part of making jewelry is working with beautiful stones and pearls!   Pairing up the two and mixing and matching and creating and wrapping and...well I could go on and on!  One thing you may notice about my jewelry is that I don't have a particular "look".  I roam from one idea to the next, but the constant is the quality of stones and pearls I use.  I try to create pieces that highlight the lustre and color of the gems I am working with.  That is my passion.  I hope you appreciate the finished pieces as well as the components that go into creating them...and that you have them for years to come!
