Measuring your wrist.
This is a guideline for determining what size bracelet to order. It is only a guideline and the best way to determine the size you need is to measure a piece you already own.
To determine bracelet size, measure wrist with a soft, flexible measuring tape and add approximately 3/4" to 1". If you are purchasing the bracelet as a gift, if at all possible, measure another bracelet from the gift recipient , or you can measure the watch size (if it a good fit) and add 1". Some of my bracelets are adjustable. They may make better gifts if you are not sure of someone's size.
If you do not know the recipient's wrist size, you can use the following as a guide (remember, these are approximate sizing and not a guarantee of a perfect fit):
VERY small = 6.5" (petite)
small = 7"
medium = 7.5"
large = 8"
extra large = 8.5"
Necklace Sizes
Necklace lengths are measured from the hollow at the base of the throat - if your neck measures 13 inches, then a 16 inch necklace will drape about 1 1/2" below the base of the throat. A common approximation is to allocate 1/2" of drape per each inch of necklace length as outlined on the chart below. Again, the best way to determine the length you like is to measure a necklace you already own. Keep in mind that many of my necklaces are adjustable in length.
The listing below shows necklace lengths according to six different neck sizes.
Collar (12-13 inches)
Collar necklaces lie snugly around the middle of the neck. Children's necklaces are typically 12 to 14 inches.
Chocker (14-16 inches)
A 14-16 inch chocker falls perfectly around the base of the neck. It is classic, timeless and versatile.
Princess ( 17-19 inches)
The princess necklace is best suited for crew and high necklines, falling just below the throat. Typically the 17-19 inch length is worn as a contrast to low, plunging necklines.
Matinee (20-24 inches)
Longer than the princess necklace, and slightly shorter than an opera length a 20-24 inch matinee necklace is the right choice for casual or business dress.
Opera (28-34 inches)
Ranging from 28 to 34 inches, the opera length necklace is the longest of all lengths. It can be worn as a single or double strand. Perfect for high or crew necklines, its versatility allows the opera necklace to transform from day to evening wear with elegant ease.
Rope (over 45 inches)
Measuring at least 45 inches in length, the versatile rope necklace is a must-have accessory. Elegant and classic, this necklace dresses up any outfit day or night. The versatile length allows for a transformation into a multi-strand necklace.
